1989 - 1990, NBC/ABC

Starring:

Peter Falk

Producer:

Richard Levinson and William Link

Discussion:

Columbo was an unassuming, dumb-appearing detective who wore a white raincoat, drove an old beat up car, and always surprised the murder victim at the end of each episode with a bust. One of Columbo's trademarks was to return again and again to the suspects' homes and/or offices with "just one more question." He also would talk about his wife, his dog, or his old car to appear bumbling and to get the suspects off guard.

Another trademark of his was to pretend like he was confiding in the supects about the difficulties he was having with the case and to solicit their help in solving the case.Of course, his real intention was to stump the suspects into incriminating themselves by causing them to manipulate the evidence.
