"Bonanza" was a lively western that became the classic upon which many other westerns were judged.  Starring Lorne Greene, Dan Blocker, Parnell Robertsand Michael Landon, this stirring classic was on the airways, every Sunday night, for over 14 years. I particularly enjoyed this program because even thoughiit had its share of western violence, it was a show that always taught a lesson or moral at the end. One of the most basic lessons that every episode taught was that character was what mattered and that those without character never would be equal to the task at hand. In nearly every episode of "Bonanza," the independence and determination of the Cartwrights were challenged and the Cartwrights always prevailed in the end. The series was set in Virginia City, Nevada.
